The white granite monument was built in 1918 at a cost of $20,500. It’s 41 feet high and capped with a figure of Abraham Lincoln. The four figures at the base include an Artilleryman, an Infantryman, a Cavalryman and a Sailor. The monument is flanked by two bronze Confederate Civil War cannons.

The monument has been a gathering place for ceremonies honoring those who have served throughout the decades.
