Artist Julie Black, and artists of TECH, will be honored on Friday, November 14, with an opening reception at the Hutchinson Art Center. The Hutchinson Art Center is at 405 N Washington St. in Hutchinson. The reception is from 5-7 p.m. It is free and open to the public. It will include music, food and the opportunity to visit with the artists. Their artwork will be on display all month.
Black is a well-respected watercolor artist who shows her work around the country. It has an ethereal quality that speaks to a complex inner world of the artist. She says, “I paint who I know, I paint what I feel, I paint my memories. I am so beyond grateful I get to do what I love.”
For more than a year, Black has been volunteering her time to work with TECH, an organization devoted to assisting individuals with disabilities of all ages. Black loves the time she spends with the TECH artists and is pleased to be sharing this exhibit with them.
