Elizabeth Smart at Dillon Lecture Series

20130416 125Elizabeth Smart, who triumphed after nine months of captivity by her kidnappers, spoke in Hutchinson Tuesday morning as part of the Dillon Lecture Series at Hutchinson Community College.

She related the story of the kidnapping, and said there were times when she was being held that she would rather have been dead than alive. But the thought of her family and that they would still love her, kept her going.

Smart was rescued when someone called the police when seeing her on the street with her captors..
